       THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY:

God created us with a strong desire for fellowship. I think we all want to be part of something, a pack, a club, a family. Why would He give us ideas to share and not give us somebody to share them with? Why He give us voices with no one to hear. It was a great evening of food and fellowship.

The banana cream pie was a hit. I had only one small bite and sent the remaining home with the kids along with some roast and vegetables.

What did I get out of the evening? I got invited to a group dinner with the kids; several couples (all fellow teachers) pool their resources and purchase the fixings for a feast. On the menu is pork wellington.

Also, apparently the food last night was good enough to get Kara and Justin back for Sunday Dinner with Claudia, Steve and Pat. It's going to be a party!

What a blessing today was. I'm back on track with my weight-loss program, having loss 2 pounds today. But wait! More good news: my good friend Al has a trip planned to Colorado and Utah, and he will be traveling through here the same weekend Liz will be here. It will be a party. Scrabble anyone?

My overall grade for today: A+ The only thing that could have made today better, was Liz being here.

How did you do yesterday? I really care, and I really want to know...

    2 comments:

    1. do you know your son doesn't like pot roast, potatoes, and carrots? It troubles me! I love it, and can never make it. =( I did terrible yesterday, for some reason I felt like I was starving all day and therefore ate more than I should have-although most of it was decently healthy, and the toe blister from the 3 miles the other day started to get infected so with that and the rain, I didn't get my walk in. Today is going better. We all have our bad days right?
I did make a fabulous dinner:

      Barilla Whole Wheat Rotini
      Pesto
      Grilled Chicken breast
      Sauteed baby bellas
      fresh chopped tomato
      crumbled bacon

It was so good Dave didn't even notice the whole grain pasta that he normally hates. And the boys said it was the best pesto pasta I ever made them. So 5 points for me!

    2. Sounds like a great meal. Don't be discouraged but if you must succumb to the overwhelming desire to snack (I do all the time, my mouth just gets lonely.), snack on something filling but it must have no sugars (natural or otherwise) and no carbs. Celery and carrot sticks and lots of fluids. Like I used to tell my friends trying to stop smoking, "Don't worry about stopping smoking, just don't have that cigarette that you want right now!" Deal with that snack the next time you want one, just don't have the one you want right now.
